Rovers could welcome Marvin Emnes back into the squad for Saturday's match with Newcastle United.
The Dutchman missed last weekend's win over Brentford due to a hamstring strain picked up before the international break, but having returned to full training this Thursday morning, he could come into consideration for the match against the Magpies.
Boss Owen Coyle has no further injury worries ahead of the trip to St. James' Park, but will still be without Gordon Greer, Danny Guthrie, Tommie Hoban, Adam Henley and Elliott Ward.
"Marvin Emnes has managed to train with the squad today so I'm hopeful that he will be involved with the 18," confirmed the manager.
"Having him back involved would be a big boost because he is a game changer, he can score goals, he can great goals so it would be great to having him back.
"Greer and Guthrie are probably still going to miss out, they've not been able to go out with the group as yet. Saturday will probably come to soon for them but I'm hopeful they'll be okay for next week but there are no guarantees."

With over 1400 tickets sold for the match at St. James' Park, there are just 200 left to sell for the clash with the Magpies.
