Eager to claim three valuable points

Owen Coyle hopes Rovers can take advantage of being on home soil when they face Brentford this Saturday afternoon.

Rovers take on the Bees later today eager to extend their unbeaten run at Ewood Park.

The manager feels that they should have more points to their name after incorrect refereeing decisions verses Sheffield Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers went against them, but he is confident that if Rovers continue putting in the performances then they'll claim the points to help them rise up the table.

"Ewood is a magnificent setting for any team to play in and we've shown with our recent home performance that we've that we have played very well," the boss told Rovers PlayerHD.

"We should we have got more points as some horrendous officiating has cost us in both the Sheffield Wednesday and the Wolves games. We scored a perfectly good goal against Wednesday, and then against Wolves their goal was clearly offside. But we know we have played very well for huge periods in both games.

"So that is what we have to bring on Saturday at home against Brentford and look to go and win those valuable three points."

Coyle knows that Rovers are still paying the price for their sloppy start to the season, but he is optimistic that the team will soon get the results to move away from the bottom three.

He added: "The poor start has meant that every week we are playing catch-up. Every week the pressure is on us to perform. But to be fair to the players we have performed really well under that strain.

"We know over the period of time that we will move clear from that area, but the sooner we do it the better it will be for everyone and that is what we will have to do.

"We know there is a lot of hard work ahead of us, but we also know as well that there has been a lot of good work put in place, there's been a lot of building blocks, and bit by bit it will start to reap rewards, and when we do then we will be the team that is on an upward spiral and that is what we have to remember, stay focused, understanding what the big picture is.

"But obviously the short-term is winning games and getting points. So we've got to understand that as well, but we know that in the big scheme of things that there has been a lot of good things put in place at Blackburn Rovers."
