As Rovers bring their season to a close this Saturday, captain Grant Hanley admits the side just haven't been good enough this term.
Reading are the visitors to Ewood Park for tomorrow's lunchtime clash as Rovers look to end the season with all three points in front of the home fans.
Whilst the defender feels Rovers have played well in spells during the campaign, a lack of consistency has proved costly.
"It is another season nearly over and we've just one more game left," said the Scottish international.
"Obviously we are nowhere near where we want to be in the league so it is disappointing.
"There's no point in beating around the bush, or saying that we have been unlucky, in football you get what you deserve and we've not been good enough.
"We've played well, really well sometimes, but we've not taken what we really needed. The teams up at the top end of the league are there because they deserve it, so it is a disappointing season."
Tickets for the match against Reading will be on sale up until the 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday.
Prices are from just £18 for Adults, £12 for Seniors and 18-21 year-old, and from £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
