Rovers' pre-season schedule is close to being finalised with the confirmation of five friendly matches this summer.
Following the return of the first team squad to Brockhall at the end of June, the players will then jet off to Austria for a six-day training camp from July 4th - 10th.
Saturday July 9th sees Rovers play Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried. Kick-off at the Keine Sorgen Arena in Ried im Innkreis is at 6pm local time.
On their return to the UK, Rovers will then take part in a three-team tournament at Morecambe's Globe Arena on Saturday July 16th, with hour-long matches against League One side Bury and the League Two hosts.
Rovers will get the tournament underway against Bury at 1pm, before taking on the Shrimpers at 2.30pm. The final match sees the Shakers take on Morecambe at 4pm.
The following Tuesday night (July 19th), Rovers face Keith Hill’s Rochdale at Spotland, kick-off 7.45pm, before they play Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Saturday July 23rd, kick-off 3pm.
Ticketing arrangements for the friendlies will be published closer to the time.
A further friendly is hoped to be confirmed in the near future, before the 2016-17 Championship season gets underway on Saturday August 6th.
Rovers' Under-21s have also confirmed their pre-season plans, with six away matches scheduled over the summer.
Damien Johnson's side kick-off with a friendly against Charnock Richard at Mosside Park at 2pm on Saturday July 9th, before facing Bamber Bridge seven days later (July 16th), kick-off 3pm at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.
Saturday July 23rd sees the development squad visit Edgeley Park, the home of Stockport County (kick-off 3pm) and this is followed by a further game against National League North opposition – AFC Fylde at Kellamergh Park on Saturday 30th July (kick-off 3pm).
AFC Darwen provide the opposition in the Under-21s’ penultimate pre-season friendly on Tuesday August 2nd (kick-off 7.45pm), before the youngsters end their preparations away to Trafford FC at Shawe View on Saturday August 6th (kick-off 3pm).
