Hanley named Player of the Year

7 May 2016

Defender Grant Hanley has been named Rovers’ Player of the Year for 2015-16.

A model of consistency and a rock at the heart of the defence, the Rovers skipper has started 44 of the club’s 46 Championship games this season and was chosen as the star performer for the season by the supporters.

The 24-year-old has helped Rovers keep 15 clean sheets in all competitions and has also chipped in with a couple of important goals – in the 1-1 draw at home to Cardiff City in August and the 2-0 victory away to Bristol City in December.

The Scotland international was presented with the coveted trophy by outgoing manager Paul Lambert ahead of the final game of the season at home to Reading, which was Hanley’s 200th appearance in Rovers colours.
