Duffy nets Goal of the Season!

7 May 2016

Shane Duffy’s stunning strike at Brentford in March has been voted Rovers’ Goal of the Season for 2015-16.

The central defender smashed an unstoppable left-foot shot into the top corner of the Brentford net with just four minutes remaining to secure the points for 10-man Rovers.

It is a goal that will live long in the memory of the 800 travelling Rovers fans, who were joined in the crowd by the goalscorer himself amidst the wild celebrations.

Duffy’s dramatic winner at Griffin Park, which received 55% of the vote, was run close by Jordi Gomez’s fantastic free-kick at home to MK Dons in February.

The 24-year-old Irishman was presented with the Peter White Memorial Trophy ahead of Rovers’ final game of the season at home to Reading.
