Duffy named in Ireland squad

12 May 2016

Shane Duffy has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their pre-Euro 2016 friendly international against the Netherlands.

The Rovers defender is part of Martin O'Neil's 35-man squad for the match in Dublin.

Duffy will be eager to build on the two caps that he has earned to date, his second of which was a memorable occasion when he claimed an assist and won the man-of-the-match in a 1-0 win over Switzerland back in March.

The match against the Dutch takes place at the Aviva Stadium on Friday 27th May. The following Tuesday sees them take on Belarus in Cork.

Ireland start their Euro 2016 campaign on June 13th against Sweden in Paris.
