Spurr - our character shone through

24 March 2016

Tommy Spurr felt that team togetherness was there for all to see with the way Rovers defeated Brentford last Saturday.

Players and fans celebrated as one at Griffin Park when Shane Duffy's sensational strike four minutes from time sparked jubilant scenes for all of a blue and white persuasion.

The defender felt ten-man Rovers showed an immense amount of character to win the match, in what was their 11th match in 35 days.

"I think it shows how much it means to everyone and how hard we'd worked over the last couple of months," said the defender.

"It shows that we are still sticking together and trying to churn out results. We have had a good run of performances and a good couple of wins in there as well so we can take heart from the run.

"The character that everyone showed to keep going even after going down to ten men after all those games, to keep going and to come out with the win is a great effort from everyone.

"You could see when we scored and at the end the togetherness everyone has got, it is a good atmosphere and it bodes now for the rest of the season and going into next season."

Rovers return after the international break when Preston North End are the visitors to Ewood Park on Saturday 2nd April.

Tickets will be on sale up unti the 12.30pm kick-off with prices starting from £22 for Adults, £14 for Seniors, £14 for 18-21 year-olds and from £9 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
