Paul Lambert believes the glut of games that Rovers have had recently has toughened up his team.
As Rovers prepare to play their ninth match in four weeks this Saturday with the visit of Leeds United, the manager feels that despite the heavy workload, it has helped the squad improve.
But whilst Lambert admits that they should have earned more points from the games played, he has been delighted with the performance from the players.
"We've done really well considering the amount of games that have had," said the Rovers boss.
"We've had to dig deep in certain games to try and get results which we have done, but performances have been extremely high.
"I think the Derby game, Middlesbrough up there, Burnley, we should have had more points out of those three away games, but the performances have been really high especially playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday. So that is really pleasing.
"The lads are getting robust to playing the amount of games but I think for the fans it is hard because they have to pay out a lot of money every week.
"The only down side of it is that you can't really do much on the training pitch, you can only really rest them and get them going on the Saturday so it is important that you try and get the balance right, but I think they are enjoying it."
