Paul Lambert believes the team are starting put in the sort of displays that are required to move them further up the table.

Rovers ran the show for long spells at Turf Moor on Saturday, but ultimately ended up with nothing thanks to Andre Gray's early penalty, but the boss was pleased with the way his side performed.

Rovers have run the top three sides in the division close in recent weeks with Lambert seeing plenty of encouragement.

"I always think your crowd is an indicator as to how you do and to a man they appreciated the effort that we put in," the boss told Rovers PlayerHD.

"I think the crowd knew what we had done in the game. There was only one side in it.

"Burnley are a good side, a lot of those lads have played in the Premier League, whereas our club has been through the wringer for the last few years.

"But that is what we are capable of, that is the way I want my team to play, what we've seen in the last few weeks, to come to team's backyard and give them a game, no lying down.

"I'm gutted for the lads and I'm gutted for the supporters."
