Jason Steele believes the manager's winning mentality has been reflected by recent results from the team.

As Rovers take on Leeds United at Ewood Park tomorrow looking to win a fifth consecutive home league match for the first time since 2006, the Rovers goalkeeper feels the up-turn in performances is down to the demands that Paul Lambert has put on the players.

"The gaffer has made a massive impact," said Steele. "First and foremost through the demands he puts on the team and the lads.

"We all know if we don't do our job properly we won't play. That's a good moral to have in any job, that if you don't do it properly you won't be doing it for very long. That's what we all know here.

"And I think the winning mentality he has is rubbing off on us. Now we've just got to make sure we carry that on.

"When you see your manager has won promotion and also won umpteen trophies as a player, including the Champions League, you think straight away, 'I'm going to listen to him', as he's obviously got something he's wanting to give us.

"He can help us and hopefully next season we can have a right go at it."
