Shane Duffy is expected to keep his place in the starting line-up when the Republic of Ireland take on France at 2pm today.

The Rovers defender made his first appearance at the tournament in Ireland's final group game against Italy and produced an outstanding display as Martin O'Neill's men recorded a famous 1-0 victory.

That win secured Ireland's place in the last 16, where they today come up against hosts France.

Didier Deschamps' side topped Group A with seven points following dramatic late victories over Romania (2-1) and Albania (2-0), and a goalless draw against Switzerland.

The winners of today's meeting in Lyon will play either England or Iceland in the quarter-finals.
