Owen Coyle hopes to use his contacts to make the most of the loan market that is available to him.

The new Rovers boss has worked wonders in the past having brought in the likes of Gary Cahill, Jack Wilshire, Daniel Sturridge, Benik Afobe and Marc Albrighton at previous clubs.

Coyle admits work has already started on strengthening the squad ahead of his first season in charge, and if he can utilise the loan market to it's fullest then he will.

"The process started as soon as I was announced," said the 49-year-old. "I was speaking to various clubs about different things, looking to utilise the contacts that I've had before.

"I've been very fortunate in being able to bring some fantastic players to clubs that I've worked at, the likes of Jack Wilshere and Daniel Sturridge and Gary Cahill, who are all going to the Euros. So that might be an avenue that we can utilise with some elite clubs.

"I think back to some of the terrific young players we've had on loan at different times, like Benik Afobe, who have gone on to have brilliant careers. My last signing at Wigan was Marc Albrighton, who I brought in for a months loan, and if the players we bring in do half as well as that kid has gone on to do, we'll be delighted.

"So I can recognise good players and the key is trying to get them to this football club to add to the existing quality we have and if we do that then we know moving forward we're going to be in a very good place.

"We'll leave no stone unturned to try to get good players to the club, which we think can enhance the team, because that's the important thing. It's not rocket science to understand that we certainly need to get a few strikers in to add to some very good players that we have."
