A host of lucky supporters got the chance to speak to manager Owen Coyle and a trio of first team stars, as they put in a real shift ... on the phones!
The Rovers boss was joined by Danny Graham, Craig Conway and Jason Lowe in the Call Centre at Ewood Park this afternoon after being ‘signed up’ by the sales team.
The manager and players spent 30 minutes manning the phones, taking and making calls to prospective season ticket holders and fans wishing to snap up a seat for the season opener at home to Norwich City.
After a slow start, the players quickly got into their stride, with season tickets soon flying off the shelves!
And, as has proved to be the case on the pitch this pre-season, Danny Graham was once again Rovers’ star performer, topping the sales charts ahead of his team-mates.
“It was fun,” said manager Owen Coyle. “Blackburn Rovers has a fantastic fanbase, so I think it’s always important that you touch base and understand the feeling of the fans moving into a new season. So it was great for myself and the players to come here, and I really enjoyed it.
“There was a lot of inquisitive questions, such as how’s the team doing and who are we going to sign, which I loved, because it tells us that there’s a genuine interest and the fans love their club, and that’s what we’re here for.
“The supporters at any club are the most important part. They are the foundations and the platform of any football club. Blackburn Rovers has that solid fanbase. They come year-in year-out, they’re loyal, they get behind their team and that’s what we want.
“We want to encourage that. The more we get, the better it is, because what we want to have is Ewood Park being a fortress again, where teams come and they feel intimidated because of the atmosphere of the home fans and the more fans we have to do that, the better.
“So, as I said before, you can never underestimate the importance of your supporters.”
