Rovers and Huddersfield's Under-18s played out an entertaining 1-1 draw on Saturday morning.
In humid conditions at Brockhall, Billy Barr's side started brightly, taking the lead inside the opening ten minutes.
A corner from the left by Brad Lynch was flicked on at the near post and the ball deflected into the back of the net off the Terriers goalkeeper.
The visitors responded positively to going behind, forcing Ben Ascroft into making a fine save a minute later, before Rovers midfielder Jack Evans had to head off his own goal line from a corner.
The match settled down after that flurry of early opportunities, with neither side having a chance of note for the remainder of the half.
However five minutes into the second half Huddersfield deservedly drew level, a ball across the box wasn't dealt with and as it was fed back into the six-yard box it was comfortably headed home by a visiting player.
Play opened up after that with Alex Curran heading over a Lewis Thompson centre, whilst Ascroft saved a long-range strike well.
The closing stages were all Rovers as they looked to grab the winner. Curran just wide after a fine run, whilst John Buckley saw his goalbound shot tipped over a minute from time as the match ended all square.
