The last few places to be part of the new football and futsal scholarship intake at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust are set to be filled soon - are you ready to take on the challenge?
High school leavers are being offered the chance to enrol on our expanding football and futsal scholarship for 2016/17 and 2017/18, studying towards a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.
The course, pitched at students considering options away from a normal college route, turn your GCSEs into goals and allow you to gain a BTEC while playing football for Blackburn Rovers in the EFL Trust Football and Futsal leagues.
The popular programme was launched in the summer of 2013, with Rovers crowned as North West Division One winners in the EFL Trust Futsal in 2015/16. Now there's an even greater chance to showcase your skills in the coming season, with a regular 11-a-side games programme also being offered to players who prefer the traditional format of the game.
You could be among those to follow in the footsteps of our current scholars, who are well on their way to gaining valuable qualifications, allowing access to university and employment in the sport and leisure industry, while representing Blackburn Rovers.
The one or two-year football and futsal education scholarship is open to 16 to 18-year-old male and female students.
The course entry requirements each person must have are as follows:
Level 3 - Minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C, incl. English and Maths
Level 2 - Minimum of 5 GCSEs D or above, incl. English and Maths
Level 1 - An interest in sport and a desire to improve English and Maths grades
The scholarship, which is based at Ewood Park using our state-of-the-art learning and sports facilities, will include a full-time education package, which allows our students to:

What is futsal?
Approved by the likes of FIFA, UEFA and the FA, futsal is played in a quick and exciting five-a-side format that is geared towards the development of a player's skills, technique and in-game decision making.
All of our league fixtures are currently played indoors at state-of-the-art facilities around the north of England, leading to national finals for the most successful teams each season.
