The fixtures for the newly-titled Premier League 2 have now been announced.
The format of the league, which switches to be an Under-23 competition, remains unchanged from previous seasons with two 12-team divisions with each side playing 22 games during the season.
Damien Johnson's development squad kick off their 2016-17 Division 2 campaign away to Fulham, with the match taking place at Craven Cottage on the evening of Monday 15th August.
The following Monday Rovers are at home to Middlesbrough, before they end August away at Stoke City on Saturday 27th.
Rovers, like a number of clubs, are still waiting for the Premier League to sanction the alternative venue, where the majority of our home games will take place this season.
In accordance with competition regulations, three of the eleven home games have to be played at Ewood Park, which are Rovers vs Norwich City on Monday 12th September, West Bromwich Albion on Monday 10th April and Aston Villa on Monday 24th April, with all three games kicking off at 7.00pm.

Rovers will also be participating in the newly-named Premier League Cup which from the 2016-17 season will consist of eight groups of four teams playing each other on a home and away basis.
Rovers were finalists in the 2014-15 competition, narrowly losing to Southampton after extra-time.
