Manager Owen Coyle believes his Rovers squad is now starting to take shape.
The new Rovers boss has brought in five signings so far this summer – strikers Anthony Stokes and Danny Graham, full-back Stephen Hendrie, winger Liam Feeney and midfielder Jack Byrne – as he strives to create the right blend of being pleasing on the eye, whilst also solid at the back.
“I think there's some good players already at the club and what I had to do was look at the squad and what was to my mind the positional need and how do we improve as a club in terms of what position do we need to make us stronger and make us a better team,” said Coyle.
“I understand the Championship next year is probably going to be the most difficult it's ever been in respect of everyone craving the same thing, so we've got to make sure we are a better team than we were last year as the club finished where it did for a reason.
“So we have to make sure we are better in that respect, but I do know each and every game we enter into it won't be through lack of effort.
“We are committed and we have players at the top end of the pitch that I feel can score a goal and win a game, so we have to make sure we're solid to play against, but equally were pleasing on the eye and can score goals.”
