Shane Duffy was delighted to get 75 minutes under his belt on his return to the Rovers first team on Saturday.
The Rovers defender was given an extra few weeks off following his exploits in the Euro 2016 championships with the Republic of Ireland, but whilst admitting it was hard work, he was pleased to come through his first match in blue and white this summer.
"It was good to be back out," Duffy told Rovers PlayerHD. "There were a few cobwebs, but I'm happy to get 75 minutes, I wasn't expecting it, but I'm delighted to get through it.
"It felt longer than 75 minutes, but it is always like that in your first game. It was a good test for the lads and I'm just happy to be through it.
"As soon as I was back in training I just wanted to be involved again and get up to tempo with the lads, so it is good to be back and I'm looking forward.
"The first week has been enjoyable, it has been tough, but you've just got to get through it."
Having been surprised to make the squad for the Euros, it was a summer to remember for Duffy with two appearances in the finals against Italy and France.
"It has been enjoyable, it has been a great experience and I can only take confidence off it and try and get better," added the central defender.
"It was a crazy experience just to be even in the squad was an honour, so to get two big games, it was hard to sink in.
"I've only recently just watched it so I've taken it all in now, it was an experience I'll never forget."
Duffy and Rovers are back in action this Saturday at 3pm when they take on Girona at Ewood Park.
Adults can see the game for £12, Seniors aged 65 and over for £5, 18-21 year-olds £5 and Juniors aged 17 and under for just £2.
