Rovers' Under-18s maintained their unbeaten start to pre-season in a match of high drama against Carlisle United.
It was a seven-goal thriller at Carlisle's training ground as all of the goals were scored in the second half.
After a goalless first half, the hosts opened the scoring early in the second when a through ball sent the home striker in on goal and he fired home.
But Rovers' response was swift, Te-Jay Robinson finding Daniel Butterworth on the left side of the area and he curled a wonderful effort into the opposite corner of the goal.
Rovers then added a second after Tre Pemberton raced forward to feed Butterworth, he slipped the ball onto Brad Lynch who found the back of the net in fine style.
A third goal soon followed when from a corner, Alex Curran pounced on the lose ball and his shot squirmed under the Carlisle keeper.
But the Cumbrians hit back when Rovers stopper Matty Campbell only cleared the ball as far as an opposition player and he fired home to make it 3-2.
There was still time for two further goals as both sides found the scoresheet once more. A cutback from Robinson deflected into the back of his own net off a Carlisle defender, before an awkward back pass saw Rovers' keeper Campbell closed down, and as his clearance hit the onrushing forward the ball was tapped into the net.
Rovers' Under-18s are back in action this Sunday when they face Celtic at the Rovers Academy at 2pm.
