Rovers' Under-21s followed up last week's win over Charnock Richard with a good workout in a 2-2 draw with Bamber Bridge on Saturday.
After the 4-0 victory at Mossie Park seven days earlier, Damien Johnson's development squad found Brig much tougher opponents at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.
The hosts opened the scoring after just four minutes when a cross from Jamie Milligan wasn't dealt with, and that gave Glenn Steele the opportunity to head into the roof of the net.
But the young Rovers hit back straight away when a Dean Rittenberg centre from the left picked out Lewis Mansell who squeezed a header home.
The home side struck the crossbar just past the midway point of the half, but it would be Rovers who would go in at half-time in front.
On 36 Josh Askew made progress down the left and as his centre rebounded off Brig captain Steel, Rittenberg gleefully snapped up the rebound for his second goal of the summer.
However just four minutes into the second half the Irongate club were back on level terms. Alistair Waddecar with a cutback to Chris Churchman and he fed Stuart Vasey who poked home from close range.
Rovers made a host of changes in the closing stages which disrupted the flow of the game, the match ending all square.
The Under-21s are back in action this Saturday when they travel to Edgeley Park to face Stockport County, kick-off 3.00pm.
