Liam Feeney felt there was plenty of promise in Rovers' first pre-season outing on Saturday.
The summer signing got his first taste of match action as Rovers defeated Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried 1-0 at the Keine Sorgen Arena.
The midfielder reckoned Rovers were in control for large parts of the match and felt it was a good way to kick off their pre-season programme.
"It has been a hard week, the boys have put in a lot of work, we've had a lot of sessions.
"It has been good and we've ended it with a good performance.
"I think we dominated the whole game which is nice to see with it being our first pre-season game. They are coming into their season next week so it was a positive from our aspect.
"We were patient with the ball when we needed to be when they sat off and when we had the chances to attack we did well and got the goal and I think we could have had a couple more.
"So overall we are pleased with it, I think it was a good start."
Rovers are back in action this Saturday when they play both Bury and Morecambe in a three-team tournament at the Globe Arena from 1pm.
Tickets for the matches at Morecambe are currently on open sale priced at £12 Adults, £9 Seniors (65 and over), £9 Students, and £5 Juniors (age 5-18). Up to three under-14s can enter for free with a full paying adult.
