Tom Lawrence felt extending his loan at Rovers was an easy decision to help his desire of sealing a place in Chris Coleman's Wales squad for this summer's Euro 2016 finals.
After initially joining for the first half of the season from Premier League high-flyers Leicester City, the midfielder will now be at the Ewood Park club for a further month.
Lawrence has enjoyed his time with Rovers, with two goals from his 19 appearances so far, and the 21-year-old hasn't ruled out the possibility of extending his loan further.
"I wanted to stay here from when my loan period finished, it's always a bonus to get more games and hopefully help the team win," he said.
"I didn't consider anywhere else once I knew Rovers wanted to keep me.
"We'll get these games done with in January first and then cross that bridge at the end of the month once the loan is up."
The midfielder, who won his first cap for Wales against Andorra last October, feels the additional games can help him secure a place in the Welsh squad for the summer's European Championships in France.
"The main thing I need to do is play games, if I play I can do my talking on the pitch and try to force my way in to the team," he added.
"The more games I play then I have a better chance of forcing my way in to the squad for the European Championships.
"Since the manager has come in, he's got good ideas and wants me to stay so that pushed me even more."
