After making his first league appearance of the season last time out at Cardiff City, Darragh Lenihan is eager for further opportunities this weekend in the Emirates FA Cup.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 internatonal came off the bench to feature in the last twenty minutes at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Rovers are back in Wales this weekend when they face Newport County in the first third round of the cup, with Lenihan having experience of facing the Exiles.

"I just need to keep working day in, day out and give the manager a headache when he is picking the team and we'll just have to wait and see," said Lenihan.

"I'd been out for the past two to three weeks with a back strain so I'm gradually coming back to my full fitness. So it was good to get the twenty minutes in and hopefully I can work hard and you never know what will happen on Saturday.

"I played against Newport last season, it was my last game on loan at Burton, but it was a game that we lost 1-0 so we'll have to put that right.

"It is going to be a tough game, a physical game, and we've got to match them.

"We have to bring our 'A game' because if we don't do that then we could be in trouble, but if everyone is on it I think we are more than capable to win."

Supporters who haven't yet got their tickets for this Saturday's Emirates FA Cup are advised to get them in advance as there will be no sales on the day.

Less than 100 tickets remain for the first meeting of the two sides. With just availability left in the uncovered Synter Stand.
