Hope Akpan believes his late goal to claim a point can be just the boost the side needed ahead of today's match against Brighton.
The midfielder headed home his second goal of the season to earn Rovers a point in the midweek draw against Queens Park Rangers, and now Akpan is eager for the side to build on that result by claiming a win over the Seagulls.
"It was massive for the team to break that run of defeats, and the fact that it came late gives the lads a boost," said Akpan.
"Hopefully we can take that into the next game, hopefully we can use that as a catalyst for future performances and get results."
After a run of fixtures on the road, Rovers are back at Ewood Park for the second time in five days, and Akpan knows that it is vitally important that Rovers make the most of the matches in front of their home support.
"We recognise that we have to make Ewood Park a fortress," he added.
"It is our home ground, we shouldn’t be losing there, we need to go and win games there and that’s what we have to do."
