Paul Lambert was delighted to be reunited with Elliott Bennett after the Rovers boss swooped to bring the midfielder to the club.
With the opening of the January transfer window the Rovers boss wasted little time in bringing Bennett to the club from Norwich City for an undisclosed fee, the second time that the manager has signed him.
"He was brilliant for me at Norwich, he really was," said Lambert.
"In the Premier League he was excellent, he was really consistent and played some massive games for us.
"A brilliant professional, you are never going to get any problem on that front and he'll give us something different because he's got pace. That is what this team has been lacking, we need more pace and more creativity.
"He'll help us, and I certainly think we need that. I know exactly what I am going to get and the type of character that he is and he's at a brilliant age, he's not even hit his peak yet which is good for us.
"I'm looking forward to him being here and I'm looking forward to him playing well."
