Rovers will have Markus Olsson available for selection as Rovers return to league action this evening against Queens Park Rangers.
The Swede would have missed Saturday's postponed FA Cup tie at Newport County with illness but he has recovered in time for tonight's clash at Ewood Park.
But whilst Olsson is available, Rovers will be without five players for the match.
As well as long-term injury victim Jason Lowe, Paul Lambert's side also have Nathan Delfouneso, Matt Kilgallon, Danny Guthrie and Fode Koita absent.
"Matt will get a scan on his hip to see how he is feeling," revealed the Rovers boss.
"I think the frustrating thing is that he doesn't really feel it when he's walking around, it is when he strikes a ball. So that is something that we have to clear up.
"We'll have to wait and see to see how long Matty is going to be out for.
"Danny Guthrie returned to training yesterday morning so we'll see how he is during the week. Fode is doing okay, so hopefully he'll be back pretty quickly.
"Markus came back to train after his illness so he is okay, but Nathan is out for a couple of months, he's had a meniscus tidy up."
After missing out at the weekend due to the postponement of the Emirates FA Cup match at Newport County, Rovers could hand a debut to new signing to midfielder Elliott Bennett.
"There's a chance that he will play," revealed the Rovers boss. "He is in the squad anyway.
"He is fit and ready to go and I know I can play him any position in the front and I'll know what I'll get."
