Paul Lambert aims to put out the strongest squad possible for tomorrow's Emirates FA Cup clash with Newport County.

But his options will be reduced due to a number of injuries.

Nathan Delfouneso will be out for up to two months with a knee injury that requires an operation, whilst Fode Koita and Danny Guthrie both have hamstring strains and Jordan Rhodes took a knock to his ankle in training.

"There are one or two lads with little niggles," said the Rovers boss.

"I've lost Nathan Delfouneso with a knee injury. He jarred it in training so he is going to be out for six to eight weeks.

"Fode is out, he has tweaked his hamstring, so that is another two strikers out at the minute.

"Danny has a little hamstring thing that we'll have a look at, Jordan took a kick to his ankle on Monday, but those two are the main ones.

"We've got QPR on the Tuesday and Brighton on the Saturday, so maybe one or two guys that I haven't seen might come into the equation."

Corry Evans is fit again after a groin strain, whilst Elliott Bennett could make his debut after joining the club earlier this week.

Those also in line for a place in the starting line-up are defenders Tommy Spurr and Matt Kilgallon with Lambert eager to have a look at them.

Lambert added: "They are two brilliant guys and two terrific trainers as well. They can feel a little bit unjust at not playing.

"The two centre halves have been excellent for us. But I would have no fear playing Matty and Tommy because I know exactly what I'd get."

Supporters who haven't yet got their tickets for this Saturday's Emirates FA Cup are advised to get them in advance as there will be no sales on the day.

Less than 100 tickets remain for the first meeting of the two sides. With just availability left in the uncovered Synter Stand.

Prices are £17 for Adults, £13 for Seniors, Students and those aged under 21. Under-16s are £7 and Under-12s £6. To book please call the ticket office on 01254 372000.

For those supporters who are making the journey to Rodney Parade there will be a dedicated away supporters bar facility with Sky Sports News on TV screens within the away section of the ground from 1.30pm.
