Darragh Lenihan is eager for Rovers to build on last Saturday's draw with Middlesbrough with another positive result this weekend against Hull City.
After holding high-flying Boro at the Riverside, Rovers now take on Steve Bruce's Hull who currently occupy second place in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Irishman believes the team can go into the Ewood clash full of confidence with the way they performed last time out, but knows that it is imperative that they get something from the game.
"We need to get points on the board, we know that Hull are going to be tough opposition," said Lenihan.
"Playing the top two in two weeks is a big ask but we can take encouragement from Middlesbrough and we can be confident going into the Hull game and hopefully we can get a good result."
Lenihan was one of the stand out performers at Middlesbrough, and enjoyed playing in a role that he used to occupy as a youngster at Belvedere in Ireland.
Paul Lambert's side played a midfield diamond with Lenihan operating on the right, a position he relished.
"That was the position I played when I was at home," he added. "Just on the right of the diamond, and I scored a good few goals from that position.
"It is a good place to get into shooting positions because nobody really picks you up, but hopefully I can keep contributing to the team, keep working hard for the team and keep getting results."
