The way I want us to play

Whilst disappointed not to be leaving the Riverside with all three points on Saturday, boss Paul Lambert was pleased with the way the side performed.

Rovers dominated high-flying Middlesbrough for long spells, deservedly taking the lead through debutant Jordi Gomez.

But whilst Rovers weren't able to see the game out to claim the win, Lambert felt that the display bodes well for the future.

"It shows what the team are capable of, but it is about turning that in week-in, week-out," said the manager.

"It is the way that I want us to play. I want to try and play entertaining football and try and attack and that is what I will always do.

"We don't want to sit there and wait for things to happen, I want us to be on the front foot. That was the type of performance that I'm looking for throughout the season.

"We are unbeaten in four at the minute so we are doing okay.

"There is a lot of confidence there and a lot of good footballers, but we have to sustain that level and to do that you have to bring other players in to help them.

"We are getting there, I'm not 100% happy but you never will be. But if we can try and keep getting players in of the likes of Gomez and Ward, that type of quality to help the lads that are here, then we'll have a right good squad."

Rovers are back in action next Saturday when they take on Hull City at Ewood Park.

Tickets are on open sale up until the 3.00pm kick-off, priced from £22 for Adults, from £14 Seniors and 18-21yrs and from £9 Juniors aged 17 and under.
