Take confidence from last year's cup success

Ben Marshall is eager to play his part in another cup shock when Rovers entertain West Ham United at Ewood later this Sunday.

Last season's run to the quarter-finals saw the Lancastrians knock out Premier League sides Swansea City and Stoke City before taking Liverpool to an Ewood replay.

The Rovers defender, who has scored in each round of this season's competition, believes the team can draw confidence from last years successes against what will be a very tough West Ham United side.

"When you look back at those games, the one that stands out for me is Liverpool away and then the replay at Ewood," said Marshall.

"So we should take confidence out of those games and take it into Sunday.

"Hopefully we can perform and sneak a win. I think we have a good chance on Sunday, we can definitely give them a game.

"The pressure is always on them, they should win, that is what people say.

"They are in a lose-lose situation, it is like us when we played Oxford and Newport, you just have to be professional and do a job.

"West Ham are a big club and we have respect for them, but after the performance against Fulham we'll give them a good run for their money."

Fans who haven't yet purchased their tickets for today's match are advised to get them well in advance of the 2.00pm kick-off as large queues at the ticket office are anticipated.

Database members can opt to order online at and collect them from the Roverstore collection point before kick-off.

The Roverstore at Ewood Park will be open from 10.00am.
