John O'Sullivan will extend his stay with Bury until the end of the season.
The attacking midfielder joined the Shakers at the beginning of January and has made three appearances for David Flitcroft's side.
The 22-year-old, who has six senior appearances for Rovers under his belt, has previously enjoyed loan spells with Southport, Accrington Stanley and Barnsley.
Before Christmas O'Sullivan also spent time at Bury's League One rivals Rochdale.
Bury face one of his former club's Barnsley at Oakwell this Saturday.
