New signing Jordi Gomez is determined to make an instant impact here at Rovers.
The Spaniard, who made a deadline day move to Ewood Park, found himself on the fringes at Sunderland this season, having previously enjoyed hugely successful spells with Wigan Athletic and Swansea.
Expected to go straight into the Rovers squad for Saturday’s trip to Middlesbrough, the 30-year-old is eager to hit the ground running and hopes to put his experience to good use.
"I've been in this league before, so I know a little bit about it and I'll try to do the same things I've done in the past," said Gomez, who was named in the 2008-09 Championship Team of the Season.
"I wasn't in the manager's plans at Sunderland and I thought this was a good opportunity to come here.
"Blackburn is a big club, so I think it's a great chance for me to keep playing and enjoy my football.
"When you play, you want to do it properly. It's a case of trying to help the club and not just play for the sake of playing.
“I just need to make sure I do the right things to help the team out, which is winning games and climbing up the table."
