Coach Ian Jones was delighted as the Under-18s reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup on Monday night.
On a dramatic evening at Villa Park, Rovers started strongly but fell behind when Scott Wharton put through his own net, but Lewis Hardcastle fired the visitors back on level terms early in the second half.
For the second successive cup match extra-time seemed on the cards, but with seconds remaining Lewis Mansell saw his goal-bound shot saved, however Tre Pemberton was on hand to cooly side-footed home the rebound to send the Rovers through.
"It is great for the lads to come to such an iconic stadium and progress through," said Jones.
"We were delighted with them, if you are going to win a game then that is the way to win it.
"Against Leicester we scored with about 30 seconds remaining and we've gone and done it again.
"We are in the sixth round now so we'll keep plodding along, I think that the performance today was good.
"We are just delighted to be in the next round."
Rovers will play the winners of next week's Preston North End vs Luton Town tie.
Rovers' Under-18s were due to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Brockhall this weekend, but it has been postponed due to Wolves' involvement in the FA Youth Cup.
