Jordi Gomez feels Rovers can take heart from their performance in Saturday's draw with Middlesbrough.
The midfielder capped an impressive debut display by scoring the Rovers' goal in their 1-1 draw at the Riverside.
The Spaniard, who joined on loan from Sunderland for the remainder of the season a week ago, believes the side can gain a lot of confidence from the way they played and take that into their forthcoming fixtures, starting with this Saturday's Ewood clash with Hull City.
"I thought we played really good and were in control for most of the game," said Gomez.
"I thought we deserved the win because we had some really good chances.
"They are at the top of the league and they are a really good team, so it was good from us to do this performance.
"Hopefully we can take that confidence that we took today and get good results from now until the end of the season.
"We have the team to go higher, but we have to go game by game, the first thing is to put in a good performance and the results will come for sure."
See Gomez make his home debut this Saturday when Hull City are the visitors to Ewood Park.
