Manager Paul Lambert believes there will now be a better balance to his side following the signing of midfielder Matt Grimes.
The 20-year-old has joined on loan from Swansea until the end of the season and the Rovers boss is delighted to have him on board.
"He's a talented footballer, that's for sure," said the Scot. "We spoke to a lot of people about him and everybody gave him a glowing report.
"He played for Swansea against Oxford and against Crystal Palace, and he looked comfortable. It's well documented that we need to be more comfortable on the ball and Matt will certainly enhance that.
"He's only a young lad, but he played a lot of games for Exeter when he was there and got a good move to Swansea, so he's had a good grounding.
"He gives us that balance, with him being left-footed, and that was a big thing for us, because I think it's something we needed, so I'm delighted he's here."
