We've got to turn it around now

Craig Conway admits Rovers have to turn around their recent run of results with a positive reaction against Barnsley on Boxing Day.

Rovers go into the Roses clash off the back of three narrow defeats, something that Conway finds tough to take.

"It has been pretty frustrating, particularly coming off the Brentford, Newcastle and Huddersfield games," Conway told Rovers PlayerHD.

"Seven points was a good return when you consider the teams that we played so to then get nothing from the next three games has been very frustrating, there is no hiding from that.

"When you score six goals in three games you would normally expect at least three points, so to get none the lads are very disappointed as I'm sure everybody is."

The Rovers midfielder, who expected to captain the side in Jason Lowe's absence on Monday afternoon, knows it is hugely important that they start to take the lead in games, having had to come from behind on far too many occasions this season.

He added: "The amount of games that we've been down 1-0 and come back from to get ourselves in a good situation only then to throw it away is really frustrating.

"It is easier said than done but we need to get in front in games and then see them out, that is something that we need to keep trying to do.

"We are in games, nobody is beating us comfortably, it is just a case of taking our chances, getting in front and then seeing the games out."

"But this is the Championship, we have to keep going, there are games coming thick and fast and we've got to turn it around now, we can't wait, we have to do it now and that starts with Boxing Day.

"Barnsley had a good result against Cardiff in their last game, but as we've shown before, we went away to Newcastle when nobody expected us to get anything and we got a win there, so against Barnsley it should suit us and hopefully we can get the three points."

Tickets for Monday's game will be on sale at Oakwell, cash only from the North Stand turnstiles. Prices are £25 Adults, £18 Seniors 65+, and £18 17-21’s.
