Rovers' 1-0 victory over Newcastle United last weekend has been voted the LG Performance of the Week by the League Managers Association.
Charlie Mulgrew's second half strike made it back-to-back wins for Rovers and ended the Magpies' nine-match winning run.
The League Managers Association’s five-man panel, comprising of LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry chose the win at St. James' Park as the stand-out performance over the last seven days.
On collecting the award, boss Owen Coyle said: "It was always going to be a difficult challenge going to Newcastle who were carrying all before them. We felt that we were going to have to be at our best, be brave in terms of the performance, and we were. It was a tough game but we won on merit and had further chances to add to the goal from Charlie Mulgrew. It was a wonderful three points at a magnificent stadium.
"So on behalf of myself and everybody at the club I accept the award, but it was very much a team effort and thanks to LG for their sponsorship."
