Ready for the challenge

2 December 2016

Rovers boss Owen Coyle firmly believes Rovers can stretch their unbeaten home run to five games when Huddersfield Town visit Ewood Park tomorrow.

The manager has been delighted with the improvement in performances in recent weeks, but knows that the Terriers will prove to be tricky opponents at Ewood Park.

David Wagner's side started the season riding high at the top of the Championship, and although they have slipped down the table in recent weeks, they still remain in the top six and will represent a big challenge.

"We feel we are in a good place in terms of how we are playing and we've got to do that now against a good Huddersfield side, a side that has lead the league this season and are still about the play-offs," said Coyle.

"I think Huddersfield, like a lot of teams, have spent a lot of money. They've brought some very good players into their team. There are one or two that I know because I've worked with them, so we know the quality that they have.

"They are a very technical team, they like to pass and move the ball, again I think it is a team that will suit our style of play, so we have got to be ready for that but knowing that they have pace and are quick on the counter-attack and they have good players.

"So we'll be ready for that challenge and looking to be at our best in front of our home fans. It is great to be back at Ewood again and we'll be looking to capitalise on that.

"We've got to make sure that we are at our best and that means going and getting another positive result on Saturday otherwise you don't want all of your good work to have gone to waste. So it is important that we continue on the front foot and make sure that we are picking points up week-in, week-out in this tough Championship."
