Charlie Mulgrew will be assessed by the club's medical department after his injury picked up in Saturday's match against Preston North End.
The Scottish international picked up a groin strain at Deepdale, leaving the field on 79 minutes.
Rovers boss Owen Coyle hopes that the injury isn't too serious, but with games against Brighton and Reading this week, it is unlikely that the defender will be fit in time for the pair of home matches
"Charlie hurt his groin, he felt it," Coyle told Rovers PlayerHD.
"So we'll let the medical team assess that and hopefully it won't be too long as I think we all know that he's a quality player."
Rovers are back in action this Tuesday night when high-flying Brighton & Hove Albion are the visitors to Ewood Park.
Tickets are currently on open sale priced from £18 for Adults, £12 for Seniors aged 65 and over, £12 for 18-21 year-olds and from just £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
