Rovers are likely to be without Charlie Mulgrew for tomorrow night's match with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Scottish international limped out of the weekend clash with Preston North End after sustaining a groin injury and isn't expected to feature against the Seagulls.
Mulgrew underwent a scan earlier today, but whilst boss Owen Coyle is hopeful that it isn't too serious, they are are yet to discover the extent of the injury.
"He is having scan as we speak," said the manager on Monday afternoon.
"It felt better yesterday than what it did when he came off in the game, so it has settled down a little bit. But we have to find out the extent of it in terms of how long it will be.
"Hopefully it will be grade one then it won't be too long, but we await that news."
Being without Mulgrew will be a blow as the Rovers boss has been delighted with the way the Scot has quickly settled into life in Lancashire.
The defender scored the winner in last month's victory over Newcastle United and has put in some commanding displays in both midfield and defence.
"When we signed him we knew how good a player he was and how good a piece of business it was," added Coyle.
"He has shown his quality, he is so composed on the ball, a terrific leader, he has great technique and a wonderful player.
"He looked very comfortable in the game again on Saturday, so to be without him will be a loss. But we'll get on with it and hopefully it won't be too long until Charlie is back."
Gordon Greer is expected replace Mulgrew in defence to come up against his former club on Tuesday night. Aside from the usual bumps and bruises it will be the same squad for the Ewood Park clash.
