Rovers will wait to assess the availability of Ben Marshall before Saturday's trip to take on Huddersfield Town.

The versatile Rover missed the Boxing Day clash at Barnsley with a groin strain, but has since been laid low by illness and will be checked on Friday to determine wether he'll be fit for the match against the Terriers.

"Ben Marshall has been out with a groin injury and has also been sent home with illness so we'll have to see how he is tomorrow," said Owen Coyle on Thursday.

"He saw the doctor at 8am this morning and he's been given some medication and sent home so we'll review him in the morning when he comes in.

"Aside from that then it looks like it will be the same squad available for Saturday, with the exception of those who are suspended."

Rovers will also be without suspended pair Jason Lowe and Darragh Lenihan. Lowe serves the last of his two-match ban after reaching ten yellow cards for the season, whilst Irishman Lenihan starts the first of a three-match ban following his sending off at Oakwell last time out.

Disruption to the defence has been the watchword throughout this season, with the manager craving a settled selection.

"We've had no consistency across the back line all season with the injuries that have happened to the team unfortunately," added the boss.

"Again that means that we'll have to adjust again. Charlie Mulgrew slotted in at left centre-back at Barnsley and did very well, so we have the option of that.

"We've also got Gordon Greer available as well as Wes Brown and Scott Wharton, so we have a number of options that we can choose from."

Rovers fans who haven't yet bought their tickets for Saturday's match against Huddersfield Town can do so on the day at the John Smith's Stadium.

Tickets will go off sale at Ewood this Friday 30th December at 2.30pm, and after that they'll be available from the away turnstiles - cash only.

Matchday prices are unchanged at £20 for Adults, £15 for Seniors aged 60 and over, and £5 for Juniors under 18.
