Important to keep the run going

Corry Evans has stressed the importance of continuing the run of results that Rovers are currently on.

As the team prepare to make the short journey to Deepdale for this evening's match against Preston North End, the Northern Ireland international believes the side are now showing the sort of resilience required to do well in the division.

With home games against Brighton and Reading coming up after the Preston match, the midfielder knows that it is hugely important to keep collecting points to go with the performances, to move further away from the bottom of the division.

"Given where we are in the league we need to pick up points," said Evans.

"We've done well in the last three games and we've just got to try and push on now and take it into the derby on Saturday against Preston.

"We've probably been playing better in games at the start of the season, but we just hadn't been getting the results. But in the last few games we've been really resilient defensively and we've had the quality as well to finish them off with the goals, especially in the two wins.

"Obviously Huddersfield was a difficult game, we had to keep it tight against a very good team and I thought the lads dug in very well to get the draw.

"We've got Preston and then two home games coming so if we can try and get another decent return from then three games then hopefully we can move further away from where we are in the table."

Rovers fans who haven't yet bought their tickets for today's game can get them from 3pm at Deepdale from the away ticket office.
