A host of familiar faces returned to Rovers for an A Licence pilot scheme, which was hosted by the club on behalf of the PFA.
Former Rovers stars Matt Jansen, Kevin Davies and Darren Peacock were joined by Paul Scholes, Trevor Sinclair and Gary Taylor-Fletcher for the two-week coaching course at the Academy.
Rovers’ Head of Academy Coaching, David Lowe, said: “The guys who are on the course have been able to come in and coach, and it also gives our staff an insight into A Licence standard work, so hopefully some of our guys will eventually become A Licence coaches as well.
"In the last couple of years we've also staged a Level 3 coaching course, so we have developed quite a good relationship with the PFA.
"Our Under-16s and Under-18s have been fortunate to have been coached by some of these guys, as well as different teams from around the area.
"Last week, our Under-15s and Under-16s were getting coached by Paul Scholes, so it is really good for our boys as well when they come in on day release to get coached by different players and coaches and obviously players who have played at the highest level."
With regards to the former Rovers trio returning to Brockhall, Lowe added: “It is really nice. They've obviously got fond memories of the club, so we try to make them as welcome as possible, but at the end of the day they are here to do a course and get their coaching qualifications and if we can help in any way, we will do so.”
