Fond memories of Brighton but fully focussed on Rovers

Gordon Greer is looking forward to facing old friends this Tuesday night when Rovers take on Brighton & Hove Albion.

The defender spent six years with the south coast club, making over 200 appearances, but whilst he admits it will be great to catch up with his former team-mates, he insists he'll be fully focussed on helping Rovers to claim the victory.

"I'm really looking forward to it," the Scot told Rovers PlayerHD. "I've not seen the boys since I left in the summer so it will be great to catch up with them.

"But more importantly it will be a good game and hopefully we can get the three points.

"It will be slightly different because you know these boys inside out, some of them I've known for six years, but at the end of the day it is the same three points that are at stake.

"I look back on my time there with really fond memories, but I'm at Blackburn now and all I'm focussed on is getting the three points for them."

Tonight's match gives Greer and Rovers the chance to get back to winning ways after suffering a first defeat in four outings at the weekend at Preston.

The Scottish international believes the club are fully capable of getting a result against the Seagulls and build on their improving home form.

He added: "The good thing about the Championship is there is always a game around the corner. It was a disappointing result against Preston, but we've got a great opportunity to rectify it.

"It is going to be a tough game, they've got some fantastic players and they are doing really well in the league, but it is up to us to put on a performance to see how far that takes us.

"In this league there isn't much between the teams from top to bottom and usually home form is crucial so we'll be looking to get as many home points as we can.

"We've got a great squad here but we are not maybe getting the results that we've deserved, but we've shown signs in recent weeks that we are a good team, so hopefully we can put on a good performance and get a good result."
