We know we can do better

27 August 2016

Craig Conway may have two goals and three assists from his last two outings but he would swap personal glory for the good of the team and three points this afternoon against Fulham.

The Scot has been in great form since returning to the side this season, but he insists that none of that matters if the team doesn't start picking up points.

Conway was part of the side that went seven league games with a win at the beginning of the last campaign, and doesn't want a repeat of that to happen.

"It has been pleasing in terms of scoring goals and getting assists but at the end of the day it is all about the team and we want to be doing better in the league," Conway told Rovers PlayerHD.

"We got there in the end the other night so hopefully we can take that into Saturday's game against Fulham which will be tough.

"I think as a team we can do better. I look at clips and think as a team we can do better when we lose the ball, we need to get into our shape more quickly.

"There are a lot of times where people have the ball in space and we want to try and limit that, so that is definitely something that we can improve on.

"I think last year it took us seven or eight games until we won, so we definitely don't want it going that long again.

"We've got a good chance at home on Saturday to put that right and get three points and all of a sudden there's a good feeling about the place.

"I don't feel there is any pressure, it is just at the end of the day we all know we can improve and get a win. We've got a good enough squad to pick up points, but Fulham are a good side, they have started really well so it won't be easy.

"But we are at home and we know what we are capable of and I think we can definitely get the three points if we put our minds to it."
