Rovers' development squad ended their pre-season programme with an excellent 3-1 win over Trafford on Friday evening.
The young Rovers followed up their emphatic victory over Darwen on Tuesday night, with another positive result and performance over the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North side.
Lewis Mansell opened the scoring for Rovers on 29 minutes, collecting a ball upfield from Willem Tomlinson, the forward showed good strength to brush off the attentions of his marker to fire home.
Then straight from the restart Rovers were awarded a penalty. Good awareness from Connor Thomson saw him claim possession, and as the ball was played up to Mansell in the area, he was brought down by the Trafford keeper.
Tomlinson took the honours from the spot, making no mistake from 12-yards.
Leading 2-0 at the break Rovers added a third ten minutes into the second half, Matty Platt and Mansell combining before Thomson sent the ball to the back post to where Mansell arrived to tap home his second of the night.
Rovers made a host of substitutions with Trafford taking full advantage to pull a goal back on 66 minutes.
The home side worked the ball well into the box before Mark Derbyshire gave keeper Josh Powell no chance with an emphatic finish.
Rovers saw the remaining minutes out comfortably at Shawe View. The Under-23s season begins a week on Monday away at Fulham.
