New signing Sam Gallagher has spoken of his excitement at signing for Rovers.
The 20-year-old joins from Southampton on a season-long loan, and admits he can't wait to get started at what he feels is the perfect place for him to improve as a footballer.
"It is nice to finally put pen-to-paper and make the journey up here, I can't wait to get started," the striker told Rovers PlayerHD.
"It is such a big club and to play at such a high level as well, the Championship is something like the fourth or fifth biggest league in the world, so to get the opportunity to play at a club like this and at such a high standard is perfect.
"The main thing for me is to try and get game time, at this point in my career it is obviously the most important thing for me, so if Blackburn and Southampton believe that this is the right place for me to get game time then I hope so."
The England Under-19 international says he had no hesitation in making the move north after speaking to boss Owen Coyle.
"We had a few phone calls and a few chats so when we finally met each other I got good vibes off him, he seems like a good guy.
"His enthusiasm spoke volumes, the way he wants to work and wants to improve me, the same as me wanting to helping the club out, so just to get that vibe off him made a big difference.
"Owen has been consistently contacting the club and enquiring about me so it was always in my mind that he really does want me to come here and believes I can do a good job."
Gallagher could make his Rovers' debut this Saturday when they take on Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.
