The GAME Room has arrived at Ewood Park - and it’s set to ensure that children in the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Family Stand are in a console dreamland!
GAME Blackburn have joined forces with the club and Community Trust to create a special room within the concourse that’s kitted out with the latest titles and consoles, and offers an amazing experience thanks to the dramatic mood lighting and comfy sofas that have been installed for the gamers’ enjoyment.
The new facility will be open prior to every league fixture and will be available exclusively to children under 16 with tickets for the newly created Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Family Stand. Players can either pre-book their places on arrival for a designated time slot, or wait in turn to be able to play for a set time period at one of the six consoles.
The GAME Room will be permanently manned by trained staff and will also offer seating areas for parents or guardians to keep a careful watch over their children - as well as offering a variety of other special treats at selected games throughout the course of the season.
“We had a vision for this new room and knew from the start that GAME would be the perfect partner to make it happen - we’re delighted that they’ve been so receptive to the idea and quick to turn it into a reality,” said Gary Robinson, chief executive officer of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.
“Staff and players alike at Ewood Park seem to be really excited about the new room, and our challenge is going to be to keep everyone out of it during the week!
“We believe that this will help to give Blackburn Rovers one of the best family areas in the country and we’re sure that children will feel the same way about it. We’re really looking forward to seeing them enjoying the wonderful new facility that GAME have helped us to create.
“It’s a partnership that really excites us and with the launch of FIFA 17 on the horizon, we’re hoping to tie in with their shop in The Mall to create an even bigger buzz than normal about one of the year’s most keenly anticipated releases.”
Steve Stretch, who has brokered the deal on behalf of GAME Blackburn, is equally optimistic about what the partnership can bring to both parties. He added:
“GAME Blackburn are immensely proud to be working in partnership with Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.
“They’re a team who truly believe in the importance of the integration of the football club, the players, the staff and the proud heritage of Rovers into the wider community of Blackburn and the surrounding area.”
