Saturday is a huge game for us

20 August 2016

Owen Coyle can't stress how important it is that Rovers get their first points of the season this afternoon against Burton Albion.

With the unwanted start of three defeats from their opening three league games, the Rovers boss knows that it is vital that they start to get points on the board sooner rather than later.

"There's no getting away from it that Saturday is a big game," said Coyle.

"Given that we've not picked up any in the first three games, the sooner you get those three points the better.

"The club will know this from their experience last year as I think it was eight games before they won. So we have an opportunity this Saturday to address that and to go and win that game and get up and running.

"And the only way we will do that is by everybody sticking together, working hard, showing quality and by being good enough to win on the day."

The Rovers boss knows it won't be easy against the newly-promoted Brewers, who earned their first win in the Championship on Tuesday night with an impressive 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

"They are coming here off the back off the back of a good win in midweek," added Coyle.

"They've got some good players and a number of players who, because they have come up through the levels, have got that freshness, that winning habit, that energy.

"So we have to make sure that we match that and if we can do that then of course you look for your ability to kick in. If we can do that well then it will result in us getting three points and that is what we have to do.

"It will be a tough game, they are a hard-working side. They are getting lots of plaudits, they are a big strong team, but we know that if we can continue moving in that forward direction we can go and win these games."

Tickets for the match are on open sale up until the 3pm kick-off priced from £18 for Adults, £12 Concessions and £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.

Why not avoid the matchday queues by booking online at www.eticketing.co.uk/onerovers and collecting them from the Roverstore collection point before kick-off.
